CT General Assembly Raises HB 6519 “An Act Concerning Labeling of Genetically Engineered Food”

CT just became the second state in New England to raise a Genetically Engineered (GE) Labeling bill in its state legislature in 2013, with lobbying interests currently flocking to Vermont, the 1st state, to steamroll and bankroll against their labeling efforts. The next few weeks are critical to contact your state legislators to get labeling passed. Otherwise we will be subjects of one of the largest genetically engineered organism experiments in the history of the US food supply. My legislators are State Rep. Roberta Willis and State Sen. Clifford Chapin. Go to the link in Food Democracy Now to let your legislators know you want GE labeling NOW! This legislation has only a small window of opportunity for the public to comment, so it’s imperative to contact your reps now to get labeling finally done! The heavy anti-labeling interests will be here momentarily, so Don’t Miss This Precious Opportunity to get labeling done and to KNOW WHAT’S IN YOUR FOOD!
