New York State is in the process of hearing legislation similar to the recently passed CT Genetically Engineered Food Labeling Act.  CT Senate leader Don Williams cited the near unanimous support of the American public in favor of GMO food labeling for the safety of families and the environment.  CT Rep. Susan Johnson stated the FDA has not addressed issues concerning untested, unlabeled, potentially unsafe genetically engineered foods since 1991.  93% of the American public supports GE food labeling in the most recent NYT polling.
